Pablo Salcedo
is one of most talented and ductile musicians of his generation.
His repertory includes pieces for soloist with symphonic
orchestra and chamber music, spanning a wide variety of styles.
Pablo plays the entire saxophone family.
Pablo was born in 1974 in the city of Mendoza, Argentina,
and began his musical education at the age of 7.
Pablo is nowadays the professor of the saxophone
chair of the National University of Cuyo (U.N.C.). He created this
chair and he is also the Chief of the Winds and Percussion Division
of the Music school at the University.
He made his debut as a soloist with a symphonic
orchestra at the age of 17.
His training includes more than 50 master classes
in Argentina, Switzerland and Spain, with masters such as Aurelé
Nicolet, Felix Renggli, Boby Martínez, Murray Schaeffer,
Torkel Bye, Margali Gafni, among others.
Pablo won three times the Music Students' contest
of the U.N.C. He has also obtained awards and special nominations
in numerous cities of Argentina (Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza,
Bahía Blanca, La Cumbrecita, etc) as well as prizes for interpretation
and composition in national and international contests:

In 1995 and 1997 he was named "Maker of Culture"
in his hometown, Luján de Cuyo. In 1998 the Government of
Mendoza appointed him as "Outstanding young man" and in 1999 he
was awarded the "Presidency of Argentina's Scholarship for Cultural
Excellency", given by President Carlos Saúl Menem.
Pablo has performed at prestigious auditoriums in
France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, United States, Brazil, Chile
and in more than 150 cities within Argentina. Pablo has displayed
his virtuous musicality on numerous radio and television programs.
He has been part of many groups obtaining various
awards and scholarships:
-the 1993 and 1994 Antorchas Foundation's Scholarship
with the quartet of flutes Hamelin.
-the 1999 Pachamama award (Mendoza) and a nomination
to the Konex prize with the legendary group Markama.
Since 1995 Pablo has participated with Markama in
the most important Folk Festivals of Latin America (Cosquín,
Jesus María, California, Baradero, Encuentro de dos Pueblos,
etc.).
Pablo also was the winds soloist at the 1996 European
tour of the San Martín Theatre Choir.
Since 2000 he is the chief of the Winds and Percussion
Division of the National University of Cuyo Mendoza, Argentina.
Nowadays Pablo Salcedo is preparing a series of
records for year 2001.
